Entering into a new dimension with its machining centres, Kitamura has been manufacturing and refining the 4G for several years but this will be the first time NZ visitors to EMEX will get to see this exciting new 5-axis technology.
“We have been waiting for the opportunity to get our hands on this new 4G and showcase it in NZ,” says Rodney Oxford, managing director of Total CNC Products. It is a typical example of Kitamura precision and quality and 100 percent built in Kitamura’s Japanese plant. The 4G is a full simultaneous 5-axis machining centre with a maximum work piece size of 550mm diameter and 400mm high. The spindle is a high speed 15,000rpm and rapid speeds in X and Y are a blazing 50m/min. According to Mr Oxford, one of the fantastic features on Kitamura machine’s nowadays is the new Arumatik-Mi controller developed by Kitamura and Mitsubishi. They have developed a very high end control system packed with advanced and high speed features commonly options on other manufacturers’ controllers and these are standard features on the Arumatik. The massive 19” screen ensures it is not only extremely powerful but very user friendly.
